This is an interview with Burger Beatz, the writer/producer/performer behind the new album Sculptures. We will take you through the entire album, song by song, and give you a behind the scenes look at how and why each was made.
Welcome to Sculptures.
TRACK 6 - 80s Movie Interlude
Burger Beatz
Another one of my favorite tracks on the album. This song is about the woman I love and how that love grew to be. The reason why I chose her and she chose me. The interlude in my life that helped me grow more than anything else. How appropriate to have it in the middle of this album. A reminder that with growth, comes happiness. A reminder that all is not lost, and those dark moments only strengthen the bright ones. When I listen to this chorus I feel my love for her spilling out of me as if I can barely contain it.
The sample is one of my favorites, from a certain TV show that I honestly don't watch too often. I wrote the song before making the beat, rewinding the shows intro over and over. The beat came pretty easy. It is more about the performance at that point. This song makes me happy. Flirting with love when your too afraid to admit you have already fallen. Sometimes it's ok to put your heart in other people's hands, that's the only way to build trust. The intro and outro is my little girl, another reason to smile. Another reason to live.
"When we together, ain't no worries, everything's fine"
And it leaves on that note. Taking you with it down that long walk together. Forever.
The lyrics page is a visual representation of what my queen and I are to each other. We keep each other grounded, but always strive to fly higher. Always lifting each other up and providing open arms when you need it most. In this world, where it is only us, nothing else matters unless we let it.
