TRACK 8 - Beauty Queen
Burger Beatz
This is the oldest track on the album. The beauty queen that pretends to be someone she isn't for the public. At the heart of it, I think everyone can relate in some way or another. Everyone has felt that pressure to conform at some point. Often it is the person that seems most at ease with life that is experiencing tremendous conflict inside. There goes that mask again... That fake smile we use, to be what the world thinks we should be. This song is inspired by someone very close to me.
Just as she does in life, this song inspires me. It reminds me that striving for perfection is pointless. There is no happiness in it. Happiness is gained by accepting your imperfections and owning them. My lyrics on this song are definitely written on this track. Every word is there for a reason.
I wanted this song to be epic. The end of this song is big, and it always gives me goose bumps when I listen. It is an explosion of emotions. Love, hate, jealousy, egotism, self doubt, all the things that make the beauty queen who she really is. All the things that run through her head when she is looking into the mirror and wondering who is looking back. The closing lyrics are stripped down to what she really wants out of life. To feel wanted.
"Tell me why I'm here,
Make me feel wanted"
The lyrics page is meant to be the beauty queen herself. At the end of the day she is not the symbol of perfection she is made out to be. She is the same broken human that we all are inside. Her neck-less head held up by her own hands, detached from herself, all the while trying to remain whole.
